The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA-Chicago), accompanied by community leaders, attended a Garba celebration organized by the Jai Shree Ram Group, drawing more than 1,000 participants. FIA thanked its Vice President Bhavesh (Bob) Patel and his team for the invitation to the vibrant gathering. The event began with the American and Indian national anthems, followed by Aarti. Organizers maintained traditional devotional practices, including a no-shoes policy and the application of tilak, emphasizing the religious significance and sanctity of Garba. FIA commended the organizers for preserving the spiritual essence of the celebration while bringing the community together through faith and cultural traditions. The gathering also provided an opportunity to meet Jennifer Davis, a business entrepreneur and Republican candidate for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District, which includes parts of Schaumburg, Elgin, Hoffman Estates, Des Plaines, and other northwestern suburbs.
