APS Cancer Walk in Long Island Promotes Cancer Awareness and Community Spirit
The annual APS Cancer Walk brought community members together on October 11 for a morning dedicated to cancer awareness, health, and solidarity. Despite rainy weather, participants turned out in strong spirits, with many wearing pink to show their support for cancer awareness and those affected by the disease. The event featured several health-related vendors, including Northwell Health and organizations focused on blood cancer awareness. Participants could learn about health resources, access information, and engage with organizations working in healthcare and cancer awareness. The walk also gave community members a chance to connect while supporting a meaningful cause. The morning included walking and exercise, conversations among participants, and breakfast and lunch, adding to the sense of community and fellowship. Special recognition went to Garry Sikka, Mohinder Taneja, and their entire team for organizing the event with dedication and leadership. Women's Council Chief Navneet was also applauded for her contributions to the successful gathering. Despite the early start and rainy conditions, the APS Cancer Walk demonstrated the community's continued enthusiasm for health awareness and collective action in support of the fight against cancer.
