The India Association of Minnesota (IAM) represented Minnesota’s Indian-American community at a special address by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Chicago. IAM Board Member Madhulika Gaur and Advisory Member Venkat Seemakurthy attended the event alongside Consul General of India, Chicago, Shri Somnath Ghosh. U.S. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and former Union Minister Dr. Najma Heptulla were also present. Minister Sitharaman highlighted India’s advances in artificial intelligence, technology and defense. She also emphasized the important role of the Indian-American diaspora in strengthening U.S.–India relations. The event provided an opportunity to recognize the contributions and achievements of Indian-American communities across the region. IAM thanked the Consulate General of India, Chicago, for recognizing the energy and accomplishments of Minnesota’s diaspora.
